Format for Ongoing Education and Communication
There are various ways in which companies will have cross functional communication. Steercos or councils on the topic can be a formalised and effective way to drive senior stakeholder engagement, collective buy in to a vision and priorities.
“Most companies can benefit from a technology council and a defined agenda to make the meeting effective for attendees. Being able to bring to the floor an idea for improvement or gain direction for resources is hugely beneficial, and it gives all parties insight into all moving parts”
Jonathan Wear Senior Manager of Digital Assets, Flowers Bakeries, LLC
It has become common best practice to both encourage or make mandatory training related to vendor functionality. It also helps to drive engagement and education through companywide roadshows.
Laura Hélie, Global Ecommerce Data Lead, Nestlé is investing in trainings and local face-to-face sessions to implement the strategy in every market/category. Marrying this with ongoing learning through playbooks, an e-learning academy with a gamification system, monthly connects with the community of users and monthly platform trainings.
Another way to drive wider education is through industry news and events, most vendors have a user community set up to ask questions and learn from one another, LinkedIn has become a hub of content sharing in the space as well as promoting educational webinars from vendors and agencies alike.
There are many industry events where mixing with peers who are in similar roles facing similar challenges or goals, and industry experts from vendors/ agencies can be hugely beneficial!
